Azulejo Tile Trend

Tiles are the latest thing on my mind for my house renovation. We’re starting to get to the fun bit and making some decisions on flooring and bathroom/kitchen tiles, so I’ve been doing A LOT of research! One tile trend that I’m going to go for is azulejo tiles, originating from Portugal and Spain, these pretty coloured, glazed tiles can make a strong impact.

This style tile is excellent to use for statement hallways, splashbacks in kitchens, fireplaces, bathroom floors and walls and also outside patios and courtyards.

Opt for light coloured tiles for a vintage effect or a bright colour to make a statement…

You can find anything from authentic vintage to traditional patterns to bright retro. This style has become incredibly popular and easy to find at reasonable prices. My go-to’s are;

Tabarka for an authentic, pretty vintage style.

Bert and May for a retro feel, make sure you also check out their collaboration with Soho Home.

Milagros is my latest obsession; they have a selection of handmade Mexican tiles. I can’t wait to visit their Columbia Road store.

Artisans of Devizes is a must visit for a vast selection of luxury tiles.
