Packing Like a Pro

People who know me may find it laughable that I’m giving advice on packing, notoriously an over-packer (I take the same size jumbo case whether away for weeks or a weekend) I leave it all to the last minute and take too many pairs of shoes, too many bags & too many toiletries. Well not anymore! As I write this I’m on the plane to Mexico (thank you American Airlines for WiFi) and for once in my life, I didn’t go over my baggage limit (4kg under to be exact!) So what did I do differently this time? I Prepared, Planned & Edited everything, even down to my makeup bag. As I’m off to Tulum, it’s a safe bet it’s going to be hot and have a very relaxed vibe. This did majorly help when planning my holiday wardrobe. No adding in extra layers just in case, no need for heels (I never pack heels when going on a beach holiday) and no need for a tonne of make-up.

Pretty sundresses, Sandals & Straw Bags are all i’ll be requiring for the next week…

Dresses A Style Album

I love finding unique beachwear pieces. I’ve packed some real gems from some really cool independent designers plus a few high street options. Ok, I may have slightly over-packed dresses, but with so many gorgeous ones to choose from I couldn’t resist. All of the dresses will work for days that turn into nights.

Cloe Cassandro | Kimi No Frills dress.

Neve & Noor | The Juniper Dress

Realisation PAR | The Violette in Summer Loving Green

Paloma Blue | Fiesta Dress

Faithfull the Brand | Amalfi Dress

Mae by Sara | Carolina Kaftan

Topshop | Jacquard Spot Tea Dress | Red Spot Midi Tea Dress

Mango | Off-Shoulder Dress

Just 3 pairs (that’s good for me!)

TKEES | I never travel without a pair of TKEES. Plain, simple flip flops in neutral colours that go with anything | Black Leather Flip Flops

Ancient Greek Sandals | Again a neutral go with anything style, about as dressy as my shoe game will be getting | Braided Leather Sandals

Rae Feather | Great accessories brand and our go-to for personalised pieces. I’m so looking forward to wearing my personalised slides by the pool | Monogrammed Denim Slides

Beach Bags…

I’ve taken just 2 with me, both by NANNACAY. One big enough for all my beach essentials & the other a perfect size for evening.

Lisa Marie Fernandez, Marysia & Eres are my go-to swimwear brands. J CREW has some very cool swimwear at much more reasonable prices, but I left it too late to order.

Sun Hat…

I was super excited to learn that Janessa Leoné has developed a packable straw hat. I can’t tell you how many hats I’ve ruined travelling. I did order one from but it didn’t arrive in time (it ships from the US so it got held up in customs and now I have a customs bill!) so last minute I picked up an alternative Janessa Leoné from Net-a-Porter, unfortunately not packable (without me doing some sort if damage to it anyway!) so I’m carrying it with me in my hand-luggage.

I’ve been using Institut Esthederm for years now and seriously wouldn’t consider anything else. Estherderm stimulates the production of melanin & trains the skin to correct itself and create a faster, safer, longer-lasting tan. Genius!

Minimal makeup, I recently had my brows microbladed (post coming soon as I can’t rate the treatment I had at Tracie Giles highly enough) & also LV Lash (eyelashes are tinted and given a natural curl as though you’ve curled them yourself, but better) so eye makeup was not needed. Chantecaille Just Skin will be what I’ll be adding for the evening with a touch of Perricone MD’s No Bronzer Bronzer & a slick of Lipgloss.

Throw in Sunnies (Celine Baby Audrey) my camera (Olympus Pen Generation) & a good read (Finally going to finish Inside Vogue) and I’m good to go!
