Summer Beauty

I‘ve just got back from Mallorca and wanted to share some of the Beauty products that I couldn’t do without in the Sunshine. Everyone dreams of glowing bronzed skin and natural beachy waves while on holiday but the reality can be quite different; Here’s my Summer Beauty guide & the products that work for me.

Pre Holiday Prep…

I exfoliate regularly a week ahead of my holiday to prepare my skin and remove any dead skin cells, my favourite exfoliant; Soaper Duper Ginger & Sea Salt Body Scrub (I’m obsessed with this whole range). I also love Legology, wearing short skirts isn’t as easy as it used to be thanks to ageing knees (any advice for fat knees? it’s like I’ve got two baby faces on mine!?) so I’m trying to take better care of my legs. Legology have it covered with Air-Lite Daily Lift for Legs.

What to pack…

The anxiety starts when it’s time to pack, how do I condense all my favourite products into one case (which already holds half my wardrobe) and not go over the baggage allowance? This Summer my prayers were answered thanks to Space NK, who kindly sent over all of my favourites in mini size! Allowing me to not compromise on the number of products I packed; My go-to Oribe Finishing Spray, Chantecaille Radiance Gel Bronzer & OUAI Wave Spray all made the cut!

Sunscreen…

If you’ve been following @astylealbum on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed the orange Esthederm bottle that pops up in many a holiday post, I’m obsessed; I’ve been using this sunscreen for years and swear by it. As long as you buy the correct sun (2 in Mexico was not high enough!) and reapply regularly you shouldn’t burn, you turn an even brown that lasts long after you’ve sunk your last Sangria…

Haircare…

As I’ve mentioned before my naturally frizzy hair doesn’t cope well with the heat. My go-to brands are Oribe, Evo & OUAI plus Olaplex; my hairdresser would never forgive me if I didn’t lace my hair with this magical repair cream on a regular basis. I try to let it dry naturally as much as possible using a product to tame the frizz or slick back with Olaplex and go with it, this halves my getting ready time and keeps my hair in a healthier state!

Body…

The dreaded skin peel is not attractive, so I slather my body in Aveeno Body Yoghurt, perfect for my sensitive skin. This stuff is so reasonably priced and leaves my skin feeling super soft.

Make-up…

I wear minimal makeup anyway but especially on holiday. I love Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser & Perricone MD No Blusher Blusher & No Bronzer Bronzer, perfect to dab on cheeks for a natural glow. If I’ve not been organised enough to get my eyelashes tinted (like this year), then it’s Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara for the evening.

Post Holiday Blues…

I’ll be continuing to slap on the Aveeno Body Yoghurt & scrub with Soaper Duper Body Exfoliant now I’m home to try and prolong my tan. Olaplex will still be applied regularly & I’ve started using Oribe Silverati Shampoo/Conditioner to keep the yellow at bay until my next salon visit. To combat my tired face, I’m using Elemis Night Recovery Cream-Oil (lots of late nights of working ahead playing catch up after two weeks of switching (semi) off! When the tan starts to fade, I’ve got Charlotte Tilbury Healthy Glow Tint at the ready, literally Summer in a bottle.

Happy Holidays!
