Casa Cruz, the Notting Hill based restaurant, opened in 2015 and is the first outpost outside Argentina for owner Juan Santa Cruz. I had heard many a great thing about this restaurant, so last weekend I decided to go and try it out.
As you approach Casa Cruz, you are greeted by a bowler hat wearing doormen in front of an impressive copper door, that leads you into a glamorous restaurant of copper paneling and thick carpet. I was impressed immediately! Our table wasn’t quite ready so we stood at the bar and ordered a drink and some Padron peppers and happily chatted away. It had such a buzzy vibe.
The food is really good and I especially loved the burrata and the John dory in a Chilean sauce, delicious. Upstairs, where we sat, has a terrace and I can imagine in summer this being especially nice to sit and have a drink. We had such an enjoyable evening and recommend a visit. I can see why Casa Cruz has fast become London’s latest hotspot. I now can’t wait for March when they are opening a second restaurant called Isabel in Mayfair, which will boast a downstairs club.
